Does Dieting Work?


The question obese people always ask is whether or not dieting works. Well, it does, but to a certain level. Dieting can make you lose weight and burn extra fat up to a definite level, but you need exercise too.
 

All around the world, many people have been dieting and consulting nutritionist, dieticians, reading lots of books on diet and browsing internet for hours to find solution to their problem. What they fail to comprehend is that only following a balanced diet works as much as not allowing more fat to be stored. The existing fat that you have already accumulated can’t be burnt if you don’t take exercises seriously.

If your doctor tells you that you need to check your blood sugar and cholesterol level, and diet, it is advised that you stick to it. With dieting you will be keeping your level of nutrition at an optimum level in order to achieve the health goals you have set out for yourself. Dieting can also be about consuming the right kinds of food in the right amounts for optimum health and not about weight loss. This is what has confused many persons when they hear the term “diet pills”.

If you eat foods containing too much calorie, like butter or refined sugar regularly, it is highly likely that you’ll gain weight in a few weeks. If you eat low calorie foods too often then your metabolism will be slow, thus less of your body fat is burnt. Eating less than 1000 calories per day could make you gain body fat faster. Some of the persons who have gained body fat are reported to have eaten very low calorie food.

Lethargic aerobic exercises can surprisingly raise your fat. So it is imperative that you don’t spend much time doing one particular form of exercise. Try to change your exercise pattern after a few days.

Grains like oats or rye are considered good for health. These foods contain high nutrition levels.

Sometimes you may need to change your dietary habit depending on your present health. This you can do by consulting your dietician.

The main thing here is that dieting does work but it must be done in an informed manner and with precise goals. It makes no sense dieting if you do not know why you are doing so and how to go about it properly. Dieting will work for all as long as it is appropriate for them and their health and as long as it is done in a consistent manner for as long as is necessary for results to be felt.


Set a reasonable goal and start working on it. With both dieting and exercise, you can shed weight and look beautiful and remain disease free, therefore lead a happy, prosperous life.
