Drinking During Exercise

 

 

What is the first item on your must-bring list when you go to the gym for exercising ? Mine is my drinking bottle !

Yours might be the same. But, do you really know how much exactly our drinking need during exercise is ? I usually drink whenever I feel thirsty. How about you ?

How many water do we need during exercise ?

There are a lot of theory on this subject, however American College of Sport Medicine had given a simple reference : don't drink more than 2% of your weight. So, if you weigh 50 kilograms, than the max. drink you should consume is 1 kilogram, which is equal to 1 liter.
 


Drinking and Weight Lifting

What if you forgot to bring your drinking bottle when having muscle exercise at the gym ? You'd better buy mineral water or isotonic drink first somewhere.

Why is drinking so important for weight lifting?


The Medicine & Science in Sport & Exercise journal says that your power to finish your weight lifting or muscle exercise will decrease 12-17% when you are thirsty! It means that, during the transition from cardio and weight lifting exercise, you should have enough drink to regain your body fluids from sweating after cardio exercise.

Now, what are you waiting for ? Prepare your drinking bottle, and get to exercise ! Choose between Cardio Exercise and Muscle Exercise. Don't forget to always have Stretching Exercise for a start.
