Learn How Yoga Exercise Can Heal Scoliosis And Back Pain
 

Yoga is now one of the most popular exercises for woman. Not only good for body, but also for the health of mind and soul. Among many benefits of yoga exercise for improving health quality, yoga could also repair body posture and heal scoliosis and back pain problem.

Do you often carry heavy weight in your daily routines? Carrying your laptop or shopping bag in only one side of the body all the time? Or do you work in front of your laptop with uncomfortable position? In a short time it might not bring any effects to you. You can just do a simple exercise during your busy hours, and you’ll feel fresh again. But in a long term, that habit can cause you waist pain, back pain, or stretched shoulder muscles.

The solution :

  • When you carry a heavy weight, switch between your right and left shoulders or hands every several minutes.

  • Try to always set your chair so that you can sit in a straight position.

  • Leave your extra-high heel behind, or don’t wear it too often.

  • And the most important thing to do : have a yoga exercise!


How Can Yoga Heal Scoliosis?

When you have scoliosis, your abnormal bone structure will press your other organs like lungs, liver and kidneys. It also causes your muscles stretched and pain. By practicing the right yoga exercise that is called lengthening process, you will create spaces between your spinal column. The new space will improve the blood circulation, which at the end will free your spines from every pressure that can bring the pains.

To choose the most suitable yoga exercise for scoliosis, you better consult and have a one-on-one training with a qualified yoga trainer, as each scoliosis problem deserves a customized exercise. But the most common yoga exercise for bones repair is downward facing dog or adho mukha svanasana pose.

Injury During Yoga Exercise ?

Yes, as I mentioned before, yoga exercise can cure or reduce scoliosis and back pain problems, thus improve our health. However, when we do yoga without proper instruction, not only healthier body, mind and spirit that we will get, but also injury!

These are several tips to have proper yoga exercise to avoid injury :

  1. Medical consultation

Before deciding to practice yoga, consult to a medical prationer if you have any medical problems.

  1. Qualified yoga trainer

Choose a qualified and reputable yoga trainer to support your exercise.

  1. Join from the start

Better late than never? It won’t work in yoga exercise! Always come on time, so you can do the stretching session properly. Stretching is a way to warm up your muscles which will affect your flexibility in doing yoga poses. Without proper stretching, your body will get shocked when it gets pressures. However, don’t be overstretching either, as it might cost you injury as well.

  1. Basic technique first

Learning basic technique like the right breathing technique is very important, especially if you are a newbie. Master it first before continuing to different poses of yoga.

  1. Don’t force yourself

Injury often happens when you over-do yoga poses without ‘listening’ to your own body. The most important thing in yoga exercise is doing the right technique, not the intensity. Ask your yoga trainer to help you in practicing the yoga poses.

  1. Don’t join a full class

When you join a class of 5-10 persons, the yoga instructor will have more chance to give each student full attention on their yoga practice.

  1. Know when to stop

Stop your yoga exercise when you feel exhausted or pain.
